If you're one of those guys who loves his Chevy truck and always buys a Chevy, no matter what, then you can't be happy about the news the GM is closing down four of its truck plants in the next two years. You've got to be asking yourself if you'll still be able to find Chevy truck parts a few years down the road. The cutbacks from GM and the other major truck manufacturers will surely have an impact on the price and availability of Chevy truck parts, Chevy truck accessories and the like. It may very well be that some canny auto parts supplier will fill the gap by manufacturing after market parts for all the Chevy trucks that will still be on the road ten years from now, but there's no guarantee that will happen. It could be that in the future, if you want to keep your good old truck running with genuine Chevy truck parts that you'll be forced to pay premium prices for the parts you need, or you'll be forced to do without. The changes in the auto industry are going to ensure that almost everyone will be forced to change over to driving smaller compact cars, hybrid cars, and smart cars. Who know? Ten years from now, you might be able to find real Chevy truck parts for love or money. |
