Chevy Truck Forum: Should 4x4s Worry about the Cruze? |

The Chevrolet Cruze is the latest brainchild of the manufacturer who is moving away from large trucks in the wake of fuel economy concerns. General Motors debuted the Cruze at the Paris Auto Show this past September, which pointed to a 2009 release but Chevy truck forum news has found out that it will not go into production until 2010 and may not be available until the start of 2011.
The Cruze is only 15 feet long and powered by a 1.4-liter turbo engine that is said to get 40 MPG (businessweek.com) while driving on the freeway. Die hard Chevy truck forum members are going to laugh at its minuscule engine and size but like most vehicle manufactures, a down sizing plan is taking effect.
The Cruze is non-hybrid, which will keep the consumer price down so you may want to think about selling your old Chevy truck parts to save for the new fuel friendly sub-compact. The Cruze will take the reins from the Chevy Cobalt and hopefully be a better vehicle. Time and future test drives of the Cruze will tell.
