No better time than now to keep your old truck!!! General motors will close four of its truck and SUV plants in coming months, expand production of its more fuel efficient cars and move forward with development of an electric vehicle, as the auto giant adapts to skyrocket energy costs and changing consumer preferences.
It is not clear how many more jobs will be lost because of the plant closures, which are expected to take place in 2009 and 2010. According to wire service reports, the Canadian Broadcasting Corp. said that 1,000 layoffs were expected at the plant in Oshawa, Ontario. Its time for everybody to hold on to there pocket books and repair the old truck you've got because nobody really knows what the future holds except that times are going to be tough and be on your best behavior at work because theirs a line of folk's just waiting for a job out there. One things for sure I will not want to be adding a new Truck payment to my monthly bill's so you can bet I will be fixing my trusty old Chevy trucks. I can do a lot of fixing on the vehicle I have for just the price of one monthly payment with a little careful shopping around for the best price as local parts stores are giving great deals on parts just trying to bring folk's in and stay afloat since people just are not spending like they used to. Below Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner speaks about the upcoming changes in store for GM and hoping the president helps with some cash to keep the Big Three automakers from going into bankruptcy. Lets all just keep our hopes up that things will turn around very soon. I will see you at the auto parts store buying parts for my Old Chevy Truck.
